DermaSensor is developing a faster, easier way to spot skin cancer.

Its handheld device is designed for primary-care doctors. It uses light and AI to scan suspicious moles and provide a risk assessment in seconds — helping doctors decide whether a patient should see a dermatologist. It’s the first and only automated skin-cancer detection device of its kind cleared by the FDA for primary-care physicians.

More than 40,000 lesions have been scanned using DermaSensor’s device. The company finished 2025 with $1 million in contracted revenue and recently received clearance to sell its device in Europe. Its venture investors include Pier 70 Ventures, Kern Venture Group, and GenHenn Capital.
