Stellaris Corporation

Turning Windows Into Power Plants

Company Information

Sector:

Energy Efficiency

Location:

Nashua, NH

Stellaris is developing a clever way to turn ordinary windows into a source of clean energy.

Its ClearPower technology uses thin strips of solar cells inside multi-pane windows, allowing sunlight and views to pass through while generating electricity. Because ClearPower is an insert rather than a special type of glass, it can work with existing windows and potentially turn the massive glass facades of office buildings and skyscrapers into solar-power generators.

Stellaris has raised more than seven million dollars, built its manufacturing machinery, and holds six patents.

Its technology has received performance validation from a national laboratory and was named a 2024 Product of the Year by Architectural Record. It has partnered with window-fabricator Diamond Windows & Doors as it moves toward commercial deployments.
